HOUSTON, TEXAS – PRESENT DAY – A MAJOR METROPOLITAN CITY

Houston is nearing a population of 5 million people, and more migrating from all over the world. Houston has more International cultures than most major cities.  Houston, Texas is still booming and draws thousands more residents each year partly due to the mild climate, no State or City Income Tax, and its job growth. People are flocking here from the Midwest States, Eastern Seaboards, and even states that are warm such as California and Florida, because of the lower real estate prices.

With all the diversification of businesses in the last 20 years, Houston is no longer based strictly on oil and gas Companies (which many businesses in Houston relied on for many years).  There are more and more Corporations relocating to Houston each year, some moving their Corporate Offices to our great city.

Airports are conveniently located, one on the North side of Houston, the other located on the South side of Houston.  Business travelers find residing in Houston makes traveling to business meetings anywhere in the world possible.  Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport (located on the north side of Houston), makes flying to anywhere in the United States possible with daily trips; as well as International trips via International Carriers.  Also, Houston’s Hobby Airport, located on the southeast of the city, the first Airport in Houston, also offers daily flights in and around the country utilizing many Airlines and Carriers, national and international.  Both Airports in Houston are easily accessed with convenient Parking Lots and Shuttles running every few minutes to and from Airport.

Houston is a modern, major city with many Skyscrapers in and around the Downtown area, Symphonies, plays, as well as entertainment and attractions of all types.  Make no mistake, Houston still hosts and yes, boasts, of the largest Rodeo and Fat Stock Show possible.  Just imagine a Rodeo with stars performing in our Rodeo from all over the world, a carnival, and acres and acres of livestock shows.  You can walk around looking at animals of all types; from horses and cattle to chickens and rabbits and everything between, along with a large petting area for children.  There are also a variety of foods to try, and shops offering Western Wear, Jewelry, Art Work and a variety of other items.  The Houston Rodeo and Fat Stock Show is a charity event focusing on benefiting children with college scholarships that reside in and around the Houston and surrounding areas within Texas..

It is hard to imagine how Houston has grown to what it is today, hosting so many events such as the Houston International Festival annually, the Super Bowl, Conventions, Parades and others, downtown Houston as well as every other part of Houston hosts a variety of events; some of them huge, and some small local suburb events for the entire family.

NASA Space Center has more than doubled in the last 10 years. Astronaut training and housing as well as thousands of engineers and a variety of employees, have brought thousands of people to Houston and more and more businesses which NASA helps keep growing.  There is a Museum at NASA for the public with hands on fun and learning based on NASA’S past trainings, and simulated flying lessons to enjoy; you may actually feel like you could fly and possibly land a space shuttle.  It is a great facility to visit for the young and old family and truly remarkable and memorable landmark.

Within five minutes is the famous Kemah Boardwalk with famous, well-known Restaurants to enjoy some of the finest seafood in the World, and ride a variety of Carnival Rides or just have a nice stroll in this laid-back location.  I enjoy eating outside, watching the boats go by, and enjoying the breeze.  Clear Lake is also only a few minutes from NASA. Houston is growing quickly in all directions to include everything from Clear lake to Kingwood. Houston has waterfront, lakes, rivers, wooded areas, cattle lands, suburban, and city-scapes.

Now you know; with so much to see and experience, after moving to Houston, it could take a year to visit all the sites and/or events going on all the time; and, just think, I have only mentioned a few out of hundreds of famous sites and events happening all year long  in and around HOUSTON, TEXAS!
