Houston International Festival

If you love festivals, you are in a great place for the Houston International Festival hosted in downtown Houston from April 21^st through April 29^th. This year’s 2007 annual festival features hundreds of internationally artists, and boasts of art markets, craft demonstrations and exhibits. Make no mistake; this is one of the largest festivals anywhere, covering 16 acres of downtown parks and streets. This year’s Houston’s International Festival will focus on China (each year the Festival focuses on an entirely different culture). If you have not been to one, this year is definitely the one you do not want to miss out on.

You will enjoy sights and sounds of China spanning from City Hall to Upper Sam Houston Park. You will be able to enjoy the 120 foot reproduction of the Great Wall of China., which visitors are encouraged to climb to the top of and experience a great view of the entire festival and the area.

However, make no mistake you can also enjoy music such as reggae, blues, rock, salsa and other varieties.

Besides China, enjoy events and entertainment in the area from around the world, including such places as African-Caribbean, Texan, Louisiana, and Jamaican and more. Tickets in advance are $10. Tickets at the gate will cost $13 for adults and children 12 and older, $3 for children 4 to 11 years old. Keep in mind all proceeds will benefit festival arts and education programs. As a bonus, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on April 20^th and April 27^ththere are free concerts.
